  • Q.

What kind of photo to use?

画像
  • Q.
  • What kind of photos display best when restored on the app?
画像
  • A.
  • We recommend using bright photos. The brighter the clothes, background, etc., the better the picture will display.
The photos are scanned as digital information, and once these photos
undergo image conversion, they are printed on business cards as analog
    information.
That analog information is picked up by the camera and displayed again digitally; however, the analog intermediary results in a degradation of image quality to go along with a darkening of the image overall. As such, the brighter the original photo, the better it will display.

Created (Restoragraphy) Images

画像
  • Q.
  • Can I modify the size of the image using Windows Paint?
画像
  • A.
  • We advise against using Windows Paint to modify the image size as it
degrades the image quality. The created image is 72 mm with a resolution of 72 dpi (ppi) and 204 px. The number of pixels making up the image will drop to 31 px after a 15% modification in size using Paint, causing
considerable degradation in quality. It is necessary to use software that can raise resolution without reducing the number of pixels.

The size can also be modified without degrading the image by making
changes to the vector data using software such as Adobe Illustrator.

Restoring Images

画像
  • Q.
  • I tried to restore the created image using the restoration app, but tiny
square blocks get in the way and I can’t get a clear restoration of the image. How do I restore it?
画像
  • A.
  • If the image is not picked up properly using the restoration app, square
blocks will appear. Hold your smart phone and the business card flat, and
remain steady as you capture the image carefully. You can try the “Start” button as many times as you need, so feel free to test it out. Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to restore the images nicely without spending too much time. Also, restore the images in a well-lit location as doing so in dimly-lit areas will cause mistaken recognition of the color code, preventing the image from being restored.
